Shannon McLatchey Balloon
Shannon McLatchey Balloon writes books and poetry for children that are inspired by history, magic, and folklore. A former journalist-turned-lawyer, she now spends most of her time driving carpool, volunteering for the school’s arts alliance, and writing creative fiction. Born and raised in a small Florida beach town, she now lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her college-sweetheart husband, three school-aged kids, and two very spoiled dogs (one big and one little).
Shannon is represented by Christa Heschke of McIntosh & Otis, Inc.
Shannon's latest poem, The Dolls, was published in The Wild Issue (Vol. 2, Issue 1, No. 5) of Crow Toes Quarterly, Literature & Art For Children. You can purchase a digital or printed copy of this issue from the Crow Toes Quarterly website.
